Day 9 - Lancaster Dragway

Excitement was in the air, being the last day...  Many cars have broken along the way.  Some of the owners have come back in rental cars (from a Nissan Maxima to a Chevy Cavalier) everyone wants to finish however possible.

Having missed the dirt track, Dave had no seat time on an oval.  His entrance into turn 3 on the first full lap was a little hot.  The car pushed up towards the wall, but was saved quickly by a reduction of throttle and the banking in the turn.  After gathering the car up, Dave finished the remainder of the laps a little bit more conservatively.  Sealing his fate as a true non-oval road racer. :-)

As for going all out, the John Boos in a red C4 Corvette from Minnesota showed everyone how to run an oval (posting the fastest time of the day).  John also tied up a first place finish in class (SSGT2) and a 3rd place overall...

Dan Corcoran displayed expert car control by hanging the back end out in his white Pontiac Firebird (shown below).  Later he said, it probably wasn't the fastest, but it was definitely a lot of fun!!!

For completely insane, we had an older mustang trying to do donuts on the last lap (snap spinning out of control) no damage done just a little infield off-road excursion.
