The first official day of events... At Gingerman we placed 80th, beating the
#63 Corvette and the #41 BMW M3. Then we drove 130 miles to Michigan International Speedway.
A quick down pour made the first couple groups of cars a little bit more interesting to watch.
Imagine being strapped into a Lingenfelter twin turbo Corvette flying along the banked oval
at a reported 180 mph in the wet!
At MIS the Aurora performed quite impressively. Even with 3 hot laps the stock brakes never
refused to pull the 3800 pound car down from over 125 mph. After the mist settled back on
the track we had placed 66th, right smack in the middle of two M3s also beating 2 VW Beatles,
another M3, an SVT Lightning, an S-4, and a twin engine Volvo. Needless to say, we were
quite pleased with the performance.
